What is breathing air testing?

Breathing air testing to BS EN 12021:2014 (also referred to as compressed air quality testing) is essential to ensure air supplied to a worker’s air-fed helmet or other breathing apparatus is safe. Safe breathing air does not contain any contaminants at levels that can harm the user.
Breathing air testing checks the level of oxygen, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, water vapour, and oil in the air. Breathing air testing results need to be kept for a period of at least 5 years and it is advised that breathing air testing takes place at least every 3 months.
